SFA Chapter 54 Scholarship
Program
Chapter 54
has established a scholarship program which will
provide a $1000 tuition grant each year to a
dependent or grandchild of an SFA Chapter 54
member in good standing. Each year, the
Chapter Scholarship Committee will review all
applications received, and recommend a recipient
to the Chapter Executive Committee for final
approval.
Applicants must be the
dependent spouse, child or grandchild of a
member in good standing of SFA Chapter 54, or of
a deceased member who was in good standing at
the time of his death. The applicant must have
been accepted by, or already be attending, an
accredited College, University, Junior College
or vocational institute, to include postgraduate
studies.
Awardees must complete a
full semester of school following award of the
scholarship in order to receive it. Upon
receiving satisfactory proof of successful
completion of that semester, the SFA Chapter 54
Scholarship Committee will make payment directly
to the school concerned, with instructions to
apply the payment to the tuition cost for that
student. No payments will be made directly to
the student.
Eligible applicants must submit applications and
required documents to: SFA Chapter 54, ATTN:
Scholarship Committee, 58 Batterymarch Street,
Suite 54, Boston, MA 02110-3207. Applications
must be submitted beginning 1 March, 2008 but

Special Forces Association, Chapter 54
I would like to first thank all of you who
were involved in the process and decision in
awarding me this scholarship, it will definitely
go to good use, and is greatly appreciated.
Secondly I would just like to update you on
where I am in college, the essay that I wrote to
you was during my freshmen year and things have
changed since then.
I will be entering my junior year in the
fall and have been enrolled in classes all
summer. I just finished my first class, organic
chemistry, before thefourth of July break and have just started the
second half of organic chemistry. Since my essay
I have changed my major from biology to
chemistry but am still planning on going into
the medical field.
I would also like to thank my grandfather
Jack Carey for nominating me for the
scholarship, he is a great grandfather and would
do anything to help.
Thanks again to all of the Chapter 54
members, I hope you all had a great fourth of
July.
Thank you
Kevin Lessard
