Events 2016Annual Christmas Party - December 3, 2016 On Saturday, December 3, 2016, Chapter 54 members assembled at Kitty's Restaurant, North Reading, Massachusetts for the Annual Christmas Party. There were thirty-seven (37) members, family members, and a special guest in attendance. Kitty's provided the guests with great food, a good sound system for music, microphone, and wall screen to show a DVD of the 2016 Foreign Weapons Familiarization Course. A "Yankee Swap" was organized with excellent participation. A special thanks to Vice President Michael Fuenfer for organizing the Christmas Party.
Chapter 54 "Adopt a Family for the Holidays" Vice President Kevin Paicos provided the membership with an update regarding the "Adopt a Family for the Holidays" progra;m. Working with a local organization and representative on the South Shore (of Boston), a family was identified. Kevin and Ann Paicos purchased $300.00 of Christmas gifts for Christmas morning for the family. Funding for this new Chapter 54 program was received by donations from purchases of shirts, books, hats, and U.S. Army engraved pocket knives at the 2016 Annual Cookout. Chapter 54 "Member of the Year" Chapter President Ken Gringas presented a Certicate of Achievement and gift to "Chapter Member of the Year" Vinny A. Pestilli. In addition, Linda M. Pestilli accepted a Certificate of Appreciation and gift for her unselfish support of the 2016 Foreign Weapons Familiarization Course. Boston Bruins Ticket Raffle Chapter Vice President Kevin Paicos ran the Boston Bruins Ticket event this year and the winner was member Don Cummings. Thanks to Vice President Paicos, Chapter 54, and Chapter 72 donations that helped raise $1,820.00 for the Chapter 54 Scholarship Fund. Veterans Day Observance - November 11, 2016 On Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:11 a.m. Chapter 54 members assembled at the William F. Buckley Memorial located at Stoneham Square, Stoneham, Massachusetts. Despite cold and windy conditions, the chapter had a good turnout for the Veterans Day Observance.
