William "Bill" Coombs
In March 2018 William "Bill" Coombs was presented with the Chapter 54 Malcolm Kalp Award for his unwavering support and leadership to the Special Forces Association, Chapter LIV.

"Bill provided unwavering support to Chapter 54 with his ability to inspire fellow Special Forces Troopers to become members of our chapter. He consistently demonstrated exemplary professionalism and leadership while exercising the initiative to reach out to other chapter's and SFA Headquarters for referrals to recruit new members. Bill was the Director of Communications for over twenty (20) years providing timely communication regarding the health and welfare of members, updates from SFA Headquarters and with precision, maintaining the Chapter 54 Roster. He was admired throughout the Special Forces Community for his energy and commitment to Chapter 54. His Loyalty, Diligence and Devotion to Chapter 54 and The Special Forces Community are in keeping with the highest traditions of U. S. Army Special Forces Family and is a credit upon himself, Chapter 54 and The Special Forces Association."
