Ronald Setkowski, of Turner Falls, MA, passed away on December 19, 2011. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964. He served with the 9th Infantry Regiment, Second Infantry Division and the 3rd Special Forces Group. Following active duty, he joined the U.S. Army Reserve's 11th Special Forces Group. Don A. MacPhail, of Turner Falls, MA, passed away on September 23, 2011. He was born in Lowell and graduated from Chelmsford High School and received a Master's Degree from the University of Massachusetts. Don was an engineer for Amtrack for many years until 2010. Previously, he was Dean of Students at Turners Falls High School and was a patrolman for the Montague Police Department. he served in Vietnam where he was captured and held as a Prisoner of War (POW) for over four years in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. He later served with the 10th and 11th Special Forces Groups. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Cross of Gallantry wit Palm. Robert Donoghue received long overdue recognition for his actions in Vietnam while serving with MACV-SOF. He received the Silver Star for gallantry for his actions on October 3-4, 1968.
