In Memory of
John J. Koski
John Koski passed away on July 27, 2025 at the age of 80. He
was a member of Chapter 54 of the Special Forces Association.
He served with the 11th Special Forces Groups. John was born on
February 13, 1945, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was a
resident of Chatham, Massachusetts.
He was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, on February 13, 1945.
He shared 43 years of
marriage with his wife, Sandra Koski, who passed away shortly
after him in December 2025.
Jack spent much of his life in Central Massachusetts before
eventually settling in Chatham, Massachusetts. He dedicated
many years to teaching and coaching at Paxton Center School,
where he made a lasting impact on his students and community. A
proud graduate of South High School and Worcester State, Jack
was known for his strong work ethic and passion for the
outdoors.
In his later years on Cape Cod he fished as a lobsterman
on his boat called the "Sandy K". Upon retiring from that
business, he served as Assistant Harbormaster with the Chatham
ASSC. John, sometime referred to as "Jack", was a member of the
VFW in Chatham.
He served 28 years in U.S. Army Special Forces. Among his Green
Beret friends he was known for his intellect and keen sense of
humor. The cheerful banter in the Teamroom was at a high level
whenever John Koski was present.
There was a joint burial with his wife Sandra Koski at the
Bourne National Cemetery, on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1:15. There
was a Celebration of Life for Sandy and John at the VFW of
Chatham, MA on Saturday, May 2, 2026
